James is skipping like a stone
Laughing at his footsteps that are dancing with their shadows
Pavement: just a point to jump from
Like gravity was nothing but a storybook beginning

That wouldn't see the end
He spends his days in humble circumstance
He learned that life is more or less a dance
No matter what the trials that befall, there's joy in all
That sends him skipping like a stone

James is reaching for the sun
He sees it through his fingers and smiles with understanding
It never changes, sending down its warmth
Making way for beauty ghat shines all around him

He sees it as he spins
It's all a gift right there for him to take
Awake to all that's good and perfect
Life, from birth to death
What more is there but taking it all in
It sends him skipping like a stone

James is standing on the shore
Cradling a pebble made for a single purpose
He sends it bouncing on the water
Watches as the ripples reach the other shore

So it goes
Each life can touch eternity in time
Each light can shine on a hill for all to see
Each step can cross the path of one who needs to be set free
To be skipping like a stone
